Wow! Great advice from Phyllis! I find that it’s very difficult to convince anyone in the LGBT community (even Christians and former Christians) to be gracious when any church makes some concessions in our direction. It’s even difficult for me to remember that important lesson sometimes. Anger and frustration runs high, and it’s simply easier to focus on the places where we still disagree, rather than on (the growing number of) places that we do agree.
