Recommended Resources

As we are often asked about resources as it relates to building bridges with the LGBT community, a couple worthwhile DVDs are listed below.

Bridging the Gap

Bridging the Gap is a 4 session interactive DVD resource (with a facilitator’s guide) for small groups that are seeking to live out their faith in a way that honors their LGBT neighbors and God. It draws upon the experience of six Christians outside the heterosexual mainstream as it relates to their practical suggestions for Christian communities. It was put together by New Direction ministries and you can check out their website and order the DVD here.

Through My Eyes

Another great resource for groups is Through My Eyes by The Gay Christian Network. All too often conversations about gay and lesbian youth are not balanced with actual conversations with them. This resource utilizes the stories of young Christians that are gay and lesbian who share part of their stories related to faith and sexuality, how they perceive the church, and responses they have received from those close to them. Rather than trying to convince others of what they feel they should believe, the DVD focuses on humanizing gay and lesbian youth by simply putting faces to what at many times has just become an issue as they relate a part of their journey for Christians that are seeking to understand others like them. You can order the DVD here.

Much love.

Hiya! I know this is kinda off topic but Id figured Id ask. Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest writing a blog post or vice-versa? My site goes over a lot of the same topics as yours and I think we could greatly benefit from each other. If you happen to be interested feel free to send me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you! Awesome blog by the way!
